Anime Expo 2009!!!!!

The last few days I've been planning my day trip to the Los Angeles Convention Center for the Anime Expo 2009 that's happening on July 2-5. Originally, I had planned to go with an ex-colleague of mine from work but due to my work schedule I was unable to join her for the dates she picked out. I had almost decided to skip this year when some corner of my mind urged me to try and get a shift changed so that I could make it to at least a day of the convention. So, thank my lucky stars, I managed to get July 2nd off, which is the first day of the convention! Woo-hoo!!!

I've bought the ticket online: http://www.anime-expo.org/ It costs me $30 for the ticket. Not too bad for I think the biggest anime-manga convention in the country. :D hehe As for how I'm going there, I decided to get a TAP card and travel through the Metro bus and rail to my destination. Will talk about that how that goes later.

As for this TAP card, it's supposedly a card that represents money that you can use either on the bus or train that supports this service. I'm not too clear on how it works and the lady at the store I bought it from was confusing me a little bit.

TAP card website: http://www.taptogo.net/

From my understanding, that card can be used to store cash and passes (day, weekly or monthly passes). Apparently I bought a day pass when all I wanted was to store money in it to pay for my rides. Since it's a day pass, would the balance of the money still remain in the card? Again, I will talk about this card later. ;D

Now, for my Anime Expo excursion...should I dress up? :D I mean, everybody going there would most likely wear a costume...;D But I'm embarrassed to...maybe I'll go check out a store at Glendale Galeria to see if there's anything remotely anime like shirts to wear on that day...

I'm definitely curious as to how the expo will be like. :D Take lots of cool photos! ;D
And if you do find a cat costume, or at least cat ears, you should consider wearing them to the expo! ;D
