After our earlier sprint to China Town, Daniel thought of searching for asian markets in Glendale. He came up with a link today directing me to this place called HK Market. It's a Korean market selling all things Korean. I figured, why not go check it out. It was pretty easy to get there. All I had to do was walk to Brand St. get on Metro bus 92 pay a $1.25 fare and stop at Glenoaks-Pacific Ave crossroad. I made a mistake of stepping off the bus too early. But it was just a short distance walk.
It turns out that I've cycled past this market before on my way to the DMV building in Glenoaks. :D Anyway, inside the place I found a lot of stuff that an ordinary supermarket would carry accept that it's Korean stuff. The extra new stuff that I saw there were like fried fish cake stuff for soup, kimchis, soy bean products, noodles from Korea, snacks from Korea and one oddest thing in a can...canned silk worms :P Ugh, not sure if I want to try that...
After going through the shelves, I finally settled on buying things I could carry home. Noodles and snacks to bring to work :D As you can see from the picture, there are plenty of snacks I want to try. ;D hehehe I wonder how the sesame and black soy bean drink will taste like. Hopefully, delicious. ;9
After that, I stopped by at their bakery place to buy this cute looking sponge cake and also a chocolate crumb cake :D

I guess the place is kind of like a bigger version of these Korean mini-marts that I see in a few places back home. Or like a Korean version of that Japanese mini-mart that's linked to Sushi Zenmai. Still, it's not like the Asian supermarket I was thinking about, this Korean one you found. The Asian ones I've seen are like the ones we saw in Chinatown - though I've seen some higher-class ones near Benji's place last time. I'm pretty sure there are similar ones in the LA area, just that probably further or have to know where it is.
Well, hopefully can find one close by. ;D But it's okay if there isn't. If any time I miss the food, I can go to China Town or somewhere to get them :D I'm sure my Malaysian manager or Sujatha can recommend one to go to. Thanks for the link though! ;D I just ate the shrimp scrackers. It's ok.
